Spliced O-rings are a viable solution when standard O-rings cannot be used. They are made from extruded cord and then vulcanized to form the O-ring size (ID) required. Spring energized PTFE lip seals are ideal for those hard to seal applications. Such as high or low temperatures high pressures high speeds and/or extremely corrosive environments. They are also used in applications requiring very low friction.
