Manual drum filling and pail filling are labor intensive and costly to automate. Filling can be dangerous due to hazardous fumes and chemical handling. A hands-free drum filling system for a hot-fill chemical line was designed integrated and installed. Sets of four 55-gallon drums are received strapped together. The system pressure tests each drum for leaks and fills all four drums with a 180?F chemical. The bunge-hole cap is tightened down and full drums are re-loaded onto the truck.
